. . . brings joy to my soul

3rd Inspiration of Jan. 2019 —

The Word of Psalm 37 challenges us through David the reactions and wisdom of God’s people among the generation that appears to be prosperous and affluent. Also, it shows us insights while we live in this generation. First, when we live in these times, God’s people should rejoice in God and do sincerity and good, […]

The Tree of Life

I love the Psalms

Psalm 1
Blessed is the one
who does not walk in step with the wicked
or stand in the way that sinners take
or sit in the company of mockers,
but whose delight is in the law of the Lord,
and who meditates on his law day and night.
That person is like a tree planted by streams of water,
which yields its fruit in season
and whose leaf does not wither—
whatever they do prospers.
Not so the wicked!
They are like chaff that the wind blows away.
Therefore the wicked will not stand in the judgment,
nor sinners in the assembly of the righteous.
For the Lord watches over the way of the righteous,
but the way of the wicked leads to destruction. (NIV)

Have you ever noticed the prominent role that trees play in the Bible? The creation account in Genesis begins with God planting two…

My Morning Song ~

CHRISTian poetry ~ by deborah ann

Early in the morning,
before the sun is ablaze
I give a shout of joy
with a song of heartfelt praise.

I make a sweet melody,
to show God my gratitude
as I sing out my praises
with a joyful attitude.

Early in the morning,
before the sun begins to rise
I thank God for His kindness
under the darken skies.

I clap my hands together,
lift my arms up in praise
as I give my day to the Lord
I thank Him for His ways.

While the dew is still set,
on the morning lawn
while the house is dark
before there is a new dawn.

I show my thankfulness,
to the Lord up above
and lift up my heart-song
to honor His steadfast love.

When my day is over,
as the sun dims its blazing light
I thank God for His faithfulness
all though the starry night!

A psalm a day keeps… —

We were like marbles rolling around in a bowl. All around us, 360-degrees, mountains loomed in colours rich, dark and earthy. As the sun rose above the horizon’s lip, shadows began pouring like ink into the crevasses. Hubby Phill and I were at Lees Paddocks in Tassie’s highlands, having hiked in the afternoon before and […]

Psalms 61 — meanlittleboy2

MEDITATE FOR ONE MOMENT Psalm 61[a] 1 Hear my cry, O God; listen to my prayer. 2 From the ends of the earth I call to you, I call as my heart grows faint; lead me to the rock that is higher than I.3 For you have been my refuge, a strong tower against the foe. 4 I long to dwell in your tent forever and […]

God is My Refuge ~

CHRISTian poetry ~ by deborah ann

God is My Refuge ~ CHRISTian poetry by deborah ann

God is my refuge,
a retreat for my soul
where life and its pressures
cannot take their toll.

His wings watch over me,
a shelter they provide
whenever I am weary
a perfect place to hide.

He will protect me,
I will not be harmed
for, He has me encased
in His everlasting arms.

God is my refuge,
a safe harbor to which I flee
when I’m being tossed
upon the stormy sea.

When I need strength,
for the troubles I get in
I always turn to the Lord
my refuge from within!

Psalm 46:1
King James Version

“God is our refuge and strength,
a very present help in trouble.”

Deserts, Valleys, and Hills — Heaven Sent Sentiments

The second week of January began in a predictable way, weather wise, here in the Pacific Northwest. The clouds and the wind were rolling in, billowing and forming a thick layer of insulation against a gray and darkening sky. A light rain fell on the evergreen and tall pine trees surrounding my Washington home. The […]

Walking With The Godless ~

When you walk,
from God’s will away
you’ll be on the road
to spiritual decay.

For, satan will come,
with his distorted views
so your mind he can
confound and confuse.

When you walk,
with the godless
your spiritual life
will become a mess.

For, the ungodly,
give worldly advice
to follow it only leads
to spiritual demise.

When you walk,
with the sinful
you better become
for your soul fearful.

For surely to walk,
with the ungodly
your spiritual life . . .
we become sloppy!

Psalm 1:1

“Blessed is the man that walketh
not in the counsel of the ungodly,
nor standeth in the way of sinners,
nor sitteth in the seat of the scornful.”
